Grand Dance Poem In Between—Wu Guanzhong’s Ink Odyssey

Grand Dance Poem In Between—Wu Guanzhong’s Ink Odyssey

On 24 May 2026, the Academy successfully Collaborated with the Hong Kong Dance Company, offering exclusive privileges for Fellows and specialist trainees to experience a unique integration of art and well-being.

The afternoon began with a Docent Tour at the Hong Kong Museum of Art, where participants explored the artistic world of Wu Guanzhong. The guided tour enriched participants’ understanding of his distinctive ink art style, fostering aesthetic appreciation and cultural insight.

This was followed by the dance performance “Grand Dance Poem: In Between — Wu Guanzhong’s Ink Odyssey” at the Grand Theatre of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre. The performance captivated the audience by transforming Wu’s signature elements—dots, lines and planes—into an immersive artistic experience through dance, music and lighting. The innovative interpretation provided a refreshing sensory journey, encouraging reflection, creativity and mental rejuvenation beyond the clinical environment.

The event was well received, with participants appreciating the opportunity to unwind, reconnect with the arts, and promote holistic well-being through cultural engagement.
